All-Electric Renault Twingo E-Tech Confirmed From €19,490, Redefining the Affordable EV Segment

Renault Twingo E-Tech

Renault has officially delivered on its promise of a truly affordable electric city car. The Renault Twingo E-Tech electric will launch in Europe with a starting price of €19,490, undercutting the €20,000 barrier that was first announced when the show car debuted in November 2023.

With this pricing, Renault is setting a new benchmark in the A-segment electric car market, aiming to make EV ownership accessible to a much broader audience across Europe.

Even Cheaper With Incentives: From €14,720 in France

In France, generous government incentives linked to the Energy Saving Certificates (CEE) scheme will significantly reduce the real-world purchase price in 2026:

  • €4,770 bonus for low-income households

  • €4,710 for low-middle-income households

  • €3,620 for other households

This brings the effective starting price down to just €14,720, making the Twingo E-Tech one of the most affordable electric cars ever offered by a major European manufacturer.

Standard Equipment: Strong Value From Entry Level

Renault emphasizes value and practical innovation, equipping the Evolution trim (standard version) with a comprehensive list of features, including:

  • 7-inch digital instrument cluster

  • 10-inch central touchscreen with smartphone mirroring

  • Connected multimedia system

  • Cruise control

  • Automatic emergency braking (AEB)

  • Lane keeping assist

  • Advanced driver monitoring system

  • Automatic parking brake

  • Individually sliding rear seats (standard on all versions)

  • Height-adjustable driver’s seat

  • Manual air conditioning

  • Rear parking sensors

  • Mode 3 charging cable

This level of standard equipment is unusually generous for the entry-level city EV segment.

Techno Version: Premium Features in the A-Segment

The higher-spec Techno version is priced at €21,090 (before incentives) and raises the bar for what a small electric car can offer.

Standard features on the Techno trim include:

  • OpenR Link multimedia system with Google built-in (segment-first)

  • Reno avatar digital assistant

  • Adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go

  • Automatic climate control

  • One-pedal driving

  • Folding front passenger seatback

  • Digital rear-view camera

These features are typically found in much larger and more expensive electric vehicles.

Design: Modern, Playful, and Faithful to the Original

The new Twingo E-Tech electric revives the spirit of the original first-generation Twingo, staying true to its DNA while adding a modern, electric identity.

Key design and practicality highlights:

  • Length: 3.79 metres

  • Five-door layout

  • Two independent sliding rear seats (standard)

  • Folding front passenger seatback

  • Up to 360 litres of boot space

Despite its compact footprint, the Twingo offers exceptional interior space and modularity, unmatched in its class.

Electric Powertrain and Driving Range

The Renault Twingo E-Tech electric is powered by:

  • LFP battery

  • WLTP range: up to 263 km

  • Electric motor: 60 kW (82 hp)

This setup is optimized for urban and suburban use, with one-pedal driving making daily traffic, roundabouts, and stop-and-go driving easier and more efficient.

Charging Options: AC, DC, V2L and V2G

As standard, both Evolution and Techno versions include:

  • 6.6 kW AC charger

  • Charging time (10–100%): ~4 hours

An optional Advanced Charge Pack (€500) adds:

  • 11 kW AC bidirectional charger

  • 50 kW DC fast charging

  • 10–80% DC charging in 30 minutes

  • V2L (vehicle-to-load) up to 3,700 W (220V appliances)

  • V2G (vehicle-to-grid) capability for home energy savings

Importantly, even with DC fast charging, the entry price remains under €20,000, a major milestone for mass-market EV adoption.
