Chinese automotive newcomer Jaecoo has officially confirmed Australian details for its upcoming J5 EV compact electric SUV, with local sales set to begin in January 2026. The model will launch initially in one highly specified variant, known as the Jaecoo J5 EV Track.

While official pricing has not yet been announced, Jaecoo is expected to position the J5 EV aggressively within Australia’s fast-growing small electric SUV segment.

Expected Pricing and Key Rivals

Although Jaecoo has not confirmed pricing, market positioning suggests the Jaecoo J5 EV could enter the $30,000 AUD range, placing it among some of the most competitive affordable electric SUVs.

Likely rivals include:

  • BYD Atto 2
