Deepal S07 Electric SUV Gains New Long-Range Version With Up to 630 km CLTC Range
The Deepal S07 electric crossover, developed by Changan-controlled brand Deepal, has received its longest-range all-electric version to date. The update brings an additional 80 km of driving range, with the upgrade costing buyers roughly $1,000.
The new variant expands the previously simplified lineup and strengthens the S07’s position in China’s highly competitive mid-size electric SUV segment.
New 77.94 kWh Battery Extends Driving Range
For the fully electric Deepal S07, Deepal has introduced a new 77.94 kWh battery pack, delivering a CLTC-rated range of up to 630 km on a single charge.
Pricing for this long-range version starts at 164,900 yuan (approximately $23,400), making it one of the more affordable long-range electric SUVs in its class.

Lineup Changes and Return of a Long-Range Option
Previously, the Deepal S07 EV already offered a comparable long-range configuration, featuring a 79.97 kWh battery with a rated range of 628 km (CLTC).
However, during a model update in September, Deepal refreshed the S07 with a more advanced driver-assistance system and simultaneously reduced the battery options. At that time, the electric version was limited to a single 68.82 kWh battery, providing a maximum range of 550 km.
With the introduction of the new 77.94 kWh pack, the battery choice has expanded again, giving buyers more flexibility depending on their range requirements.
Pricing and Trim Levels
The new long-range battery is available in the same Max and Ultra trims as the standard version. In both cases, the upgrade costs an additional:
-
8,000 yuan (around $1,100)
This relatively small premium makes the long-range version particularly attractive for buyers who prioritize extended driving range.

Performance Adjustments
To optimize efficiency, Deepal has slightly adjusted the power output of the rear-mounted electric motor:
-
Power output: reduced from 272 hp to 258 hp
-
Torque: unchanged at 290 Nm
-
0–100 km/h acceleration: 7.5 seconds (previously 7.4 seconds)
-
Top speed: unchanged at 185 km/h
Despite the minor reduction in power, real-world performance remains largely unaffected, while efficiency benefits help support the longer driving range.
Hybrid Versions Still Available
In addition to the fully electric variants, the Deepal S07 is also offered as a range-extended hybrid (EREV). These versions feature two battery options, allowing:
-
230 km of electric-only range
-
300 km of electric-only range
This makes the S07 appealing to buyers who want long electric driving capability without full reliance on charging infrastructure.

Strengthening Deepal’s EV Strategy
By reintroducing a long-range battery option at a modest price increase, Deepal is clearly responding to customer demand for greater flexibility and extended range. The updated Deepal S07 lineup now covers a wider spectrum of use cases, from urban commuting to long-distance travel.
