At the EICMA 2023 Milan Motorcycle Show, Yadea revealed its latest innovation: the Kemper electric motorcycle. Electrek had the opportunity to explore this groundbreaking vehicle firsthand.

Yadea Kemper Electric Motorcycle Closing the Refueling Gap

While electric motorcycles excel in performance metrics like acceleration and maintenance, quick refueling has remained a challenge. Most fast-charging electric bikes require between 30-45 minutes for a significant recharge. Yadea aims to change that with the Kemper, boasting a remarkable 10-minute fast-charging capability for a 0-80% recharge.

The Yadea Kemper isn’t just about rapid charging—it packs a punch in terms of performance too. With a top speed of 160 km/h (99.4 mph) and a powerful centrally-mounted motor delivering 23 kW of continuous power and 40 kW of peak power (equivalent to 53 horsepower), this naked sportbike offers exhilarating performance.

Acceleration and Range

While its 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) time of 4.9 seconds may not match the quickest electric motorcycles on the market, it still delivers impressive acceleration off the line. Although Yadea hasn’t disclosed the bike’s range, it is equipped with a high-voltage 320V 20Ah lithium iron phosphate battery, providing 6.4 kWh of capacity.

Advanced Features

In addition to its performance prowess, the Yadea Kemper comes loaded with advanced features. It features Bosch ABS and traction control integrated with Brembo brakes, KYB suspension, a 7-inch TFT color dashboard screen, and European L3e-A2 motorcycle homologation. Additionally, it includes a built-in 1080p dash cam, allowing riders to capture and save footage to a removable memory card.
