BYD continues its rapid product evolution with a heavily upgraded 2026 Sealion 06, giving the popular electric SUV significantly more power and a longer driving range. First launched in July 2025, the Sealion 06 has already become one of BYD’s volume leaders — and the new hardware update is designed to keep it there.

BYD also tackles the biggest EV concern — range anxiety — by introducing larger Blade Battery packs using LFP (lithium iron phosphate) chemistry.

• 82.732 kWh → 710 km CLTC

For comparison, the outgoing batteries were:

• 65.28 kWh

• 78.72 kWh

Even allowing for more conservative real-world driving, a 710 km-rated electric family SUV is a major milestone in this segment.

Despite the added mass, the 270 kW motor ensures the upgraded Sealion 06 remains responsive and quick, avoiding the sluggish feel that often affects long-range EVs.

BYD wisely keeps the exterior intact. The Sealion 06 continues with the brand’s Ocean design language, including:
